Mark Roskams is an Australian-born photographer internationally recognized for his work in architecture, interior design, travel, food, and lifestyle photography. He began his career in the early 1980s, traveling extensively and developing a visual language shaped by design, architecture, and a deep curiosity about place and culture.
His photographic career has taken him from New York to Florida, throughout the Caribbean, and across Europe, before ultimately returning to settle in New York City, where he is now based. Roskams’ work has been published widely in leading international design and lifestyle publications, including Architectural Digest (Germany, France, Italy, China, and Russia), Interior Design, Veranda, Luxe, among many others.
In addition to editorial and commercial photography, Mark Roskams has an extensive publishing career with Rizzoli International, collaborating on a series of highly regarded books that explore architecture, interiors, food, travel, and culture. His publications include Masseria: The Italian Farmhouses of Puglia (2011), Interiors: Inson Dubois Wood (2015), Equestrian Life (2018, UK & Ireland), Entertaining Chic with Claudia Taittinger (2019), Serafina Italian Cooking (2021), and Marie Belle Entertains (2023), a study of chocolate, its origins, recipes, and entertaining.
His forthcoming book, Yogmata Aikawa (scheduled for publication in 2027), focuses on meditation and spiritual practice, set in Japan, and centers on the work of world-renowned meditation teacher Yogmata Aikawa.
Based in New York City and working internationally, Mark Roskams continues to collaborate with architects, interior designers, publishers, and global brands, producing refined, narrative-driven imagery that bridges architecture, lifestyle, and place.
